Agatized Dinosaur Bone in 14k Gold Filled Wire
Also known as gembone and dinogem, this fascinating and rare stone is both a fossil and a gemstone. This phenomena occured when minerals from the surrounding groundwater (such as agate, hematite, jasper, and quartz) became depositied within the chambered/spongy structures of the bones during the fossilization process. The variation of minerals depositied during that time gives each piece a unique set of colors and patterns. This piece boasts hues of red, gold, orange, pale blue-silver, and black.
This pendant is just under 2 inches in height, weighs 9 grams, and will include a 20 inch long 14k gold filled chain.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Like many fossils, agatized dinosaur bone is fragile when found and needs to be stabilized before it can be worked with. Although this piece was stabilized prior to being worked, it's best to keep it away from excessive moisture, heat, cold, pressure, or activity to prevent damage. It is a beautiful, rare, and unique piece of history; treat it with the respect it deserves. <3
